Steak Recipe

I love to cook my steaks in a well season cast iron here is how I cook steak

Ingredients:

your choice of flying diamond steaks

Salt & Pepper

Garlic

butter

herbs of choice ( I usually use rosemary or thyme)

get steaks out of fridge a half hour before you plan to cook them so they are at room temperature when you place them in cast iron

  • place cast iron on stove to get hot I then add a small amount of oil to gauge skillets heat and to help the garlic cook later

  • season both sides of steak well with sea salt and pepper to your liking

  • the cast iron will be ready when the oil is evenly covered pan and is sizzling slightly

  • place the steak closest to you first so the oil does not splatter toward you

  • depending on the thickness of the steak and heat of pan after a few minutes check how the steak is browning once the steak has browned flip the steak

  • once the steak has been flipped add garlic a whole clove smashed or minced to the pan along with herbs and a knob of butter

  • Allow the other side to brown well move the cast iron around so the butter garlic herbs do not burn

  • check the steak by simply slicing into it or using a thermometer
